Filming 5: Filming Discussion

This video shows a discussion we had.

We decided that we had learnt how to use the equipment properly and everything ran fairly smoothly. Although we faced hurdles we managed to over come them with team work and we believe that we have got 41/41 shots that can be put together to create our fast paced sequence.

Filming 4: Film Shoot

SETTING WHITE BALANCE

Here is a picture of Harry setting the White Balance for the camera.

CREATING A SANDWICH

FOLLOWING THE 180 DEGREE RULE

It should be noted that this video is showing a fix. Originally, we failed to follow the 180 degree rule and realized this towards the end of filming. So, we filmed it again and recorded this footage to show the fix.

RECORDING SEPARATE DIALOGUE

Harry listening to some recorded dialogue before the battery ran out.

BEHIND THE SCENES

This video shows a practice for one of our shots whereby Charlie (Spark) throws Harry (JD) over him after he points a gun towards him. This is not the final shot that will be used in the sequence.

We are sorry for the glitches in this recording.

Filming 3: Organization of Equipment, Actors and Props

SETTING UP EQUIPMENT

This is Harry setting up the stand for the lighting.

Here you can see Harry retrieving the bulb that will be used for lighting.

This is a picture of the camera set up on its tripod.

ORGANIZING PROPS

Here is a picture of our gun prop. The spray paint on the right has been used to colour the gun black.

Filming 2: Booking Equipment

Here is the form for booking our filming equipment. In order to book and use the equipment, this form had to be filled out. The ten pound note has been used as a deposit.

This is the equipment that we booked. The equipment we are using includes: A camera (for filming), a tripod (to steady shots when filming), a lapel mic (to record separate dialogue), a bulb, bulb connector and a tripod (to light up areas when filming) and reflectors (to redirect light).

Filming 1: Script - Translated to German

SCRIPT – TRANSLATED TO GERMAN
  • Shot 2 when JD speaks to Bruce's corpse: "You never learn, kid. It's a shame that it had to come to this"
You never learn, kid – du lernst nie, kind. (do-lernce-nee, kint)

  • Shot 2 when Spark accidentally snaps a twig after silently approaching JD: "Oh, shit!"

  • Shot 2 when JD realises Spark is behind him: "You?! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN!"

  • Shot 14 when we get a POV shot of Spark hiding behind a tree (This dialogue will be in his head, yet it will sound like he is panting): "Shit! What do I do?!"

  • Shot 15 when JD can't find Spark: "I KNOW YOU'RE HERE SPARK. I KNOW YOU'RE HIDING!"

  • Shot 23 when we get an extreme close up of JD when Spark hits him: "Aaargh!"

  • Shot 41 when we get another POV shot of Spark on the brink of death (This dialogue will be in his head, yet it will be spoken slowly to show that he is dying): "I'm sorry, Bruce. Please... Forgive... Me"

Only the beginning of the first line is being spoken in German due to our antagonist being able to speak it fluently. The reason we're using German briefly is to create enigma as soon as the scene begins, but not too much that it draws the audience away from the main event... the chase. It is supposed to start raising questions and shouldn't be thought about throughout the entire scene.
