Editing 2: Sound, Ambient Sound, Dialogue and Foleys

SOUND EDITING

This video informs you that we wanted a more dramatic gunshot for the ending of our Thriller opening. We wanted the audience to be left on the edge of their seats, so we decided to mix the gunshot and sounds of thunder together to make for a more intense and powerful climax.

In this video, Charlie explains that we have used 'www.bensound.com' for our title sequence. This website provided a wide range of non-copyright sounds/tracks that we could have used for the sequence.

The track circled is the one that we have used for our Thriller opening. We used this track because it fit well with the theme of 'Gangsters'

AMBIENT SOUND EDITING

Throughout our sequence we used a number of ambient sounds to get rid of any silence. As mentioned in the video, we used a low hum when Erol was in free fall simply because you couldn't hear anything whilst he was in the air. Other ambient sounds that weren't documented include a 'ringing' sound to simulate the feeling of being dazed when one of our characters is shot, and the sound of wind blowing when the antagonist slowly approaches our other character in the climax of our sequence.

DIALOGUE EDITING

This video provided you with a list of all the dialogue we recorded. We used Charlie's phone because the audio was clear, making it easier to work with when it came to editing it into our sequence.
